Professional sculptor with various accolades and a vast experience. And I always looking for something new.
Artistically, the way how we live our lives and perceive the world was always incredibly interesting and thrilling for me. I started my journey in early childhood by drawing over the wallpaper in my room. Glad I did, because that’s where my mother saw that I have a knack for it and, instead of being mad, made the right decision – “You should try to go to Art school”, she said. Since then my life always have been in sync with art – I was learning the craft and thought big ever since. Small town art school was followed by J. Rozentala Art College, which specialized in painting and drawing, and Art Academy of Latvia, where I got my degrees in sculpture.
As an artist I am more fascinated and in love with three-dimensional work, but the skills I have in painting and drawing still are helping tremendously with visualizing ideas and figuring out what has to be done. The importance of having skills in multiple areas I have often discussed while teaching art classes in Marupe Art School as well as having master-classes of my own in various projects, such as “Buts”, Visual advertising designer” and other private scale endeavors.
With each new work, festival or event I grow as an artist myself and I do not intend to stop.
